PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for coating a metal plate which moves continuously in which a paint film having a three-dimensional design and beauty can be formed without increasing the number of baking operations. SOLUTION: In a method for forming a finish clear paint film on a finish coloring base paint film by applying a finish coloring base paint and a finish clear paint onto a long metal plate which continuously moves by a wet-on-wet process and baking these paints, the finish coloring base paint contains organic resin fine particles having mean particle diameter of 5-80μm and a coloring pigment which are not melted completely by being baked at the time of forming a paint film.
