Chimeric gene (I) containing, apart from heterologous 5' and 3' regulatory elements functional in plants, at least one DNA (II) that encodes drosomicin (III) is new. Also new are (A) fusion peptides (FP) including (III); (B) plant transformation vector containing (I); (C) plant cells transformed with (I); (D) disease-resistant plants including such cells, and seeds from them.
