PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the reproduction of a message recorded in absence from being forgotten by providing a timer device for periodically starting a speaker. SOLUTION: When there is an incoming call during automatic answering telephone is on, the message of a caller is recorded by a recorder/reproducer 9, the information of message presence is received from the recorder/reproducer 9 by a control part 3, and this information is sent to a timer device 6. Based on the time designated through a timer device operate key 7 by an automatic answering telephone user, the timer device 6 periodically transmits timer start information to the control part 3, and an alarm tone transmitter 4 receives the alarm tone sending information of message presence and sends alarm tones from a speaker 5. After the automatic answering telephone user comes back, he knows the presence of the message from the ringing of the speaker 5.
