PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for manufacturing the silver halide photographic emulsion high in sensitivity and small in change of photographic performance and to provide the emulsion made by this method and the silver halide photographic sensitive material containing this emulsion. SOLUTION: This silver halide emulsion contains flat silver halide grains occupying >=50% of the projection areas of the total silver halide grains and having an aspect ratio of >=3.0 and a corresponding circle diameter of >=1.4μm, and these flat silver halide grains are grown substantially in a host silver halide grains growing process (a) and a process (b) for adding an emulsion containing hardly soluble silver the halide grains, and a process (c) for forming an outermost shell layer, and an amount of silver CAg consumed in the process (a) and amounts of silver SAg consumed in the processes (b) and (c) satisfy the following expression: SAg /CAg = R<3> /(R-d)<3> }-1, and 0<d<=0.15, where R is a corresponding sphere radius of the silver halide grains in the final stage.
