摘要 |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the return loss and coupling loss of light for exciting a semiconductor laser by providing an optical guide plate of which the area of the cross section perpendicular to the propagation principal optical axis of pumping light increases toward the semiconductor laser and decreases toward the solid laser medium. SOLUTION: The laser device comprises a pumping reflector 7 composed of a cylindrical reflecting mirror for reflecting pumping light emitted through cylindrical optical glass guide plates 5 for propagating the light of a semiconductor laser 3 to a solid laser medium 1. The plates 5 have a max. thickness of an incident face 5a on the laser side and the thickness gradually decreases toward the medium 1 to a min. thickness at emission faces 5b. Thus the cross sectional area perpendicular to the principal propagation optical axis A of the light emitted from the laser 3 is large on the laser 3 side and gradually degreases toward the solid laser medium 1. |
