PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up parallel propagation processing for propagating the values of many points in parallel in eight nearby directions in a parallel picture processor based on an one-dimensionally coupled distributed memory type processor array. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a propagation processing register P capable of directly reading out data from an adjacent PE and the register P is provided with fields D1 to D8 for storing the existence/non-existence of propagation, a field V for storing a progagation value when propagation exists and a field Y for storing a propagation position. Consequently all PEs can directly and simultaneously obtain information related to propagation from their adjacent PEs. |
