PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the program of different specification from erroneously being down-loaded in updating for down-loading the individual programs generated for the unit of different specification through the use of a general boot loader and a flash memory. SOLUTION: If a password collation mode is set in down-loading the program (S440: YES), a model/country identification password is received (S450) and it is collated with a password stored in the pertinent area of a main program area. When they are not matched, received data is read (S460-S480). The password collation mode is set when initial loading is not completed. When initial loading is not completed, the password collation mode is not set and the program and the password are read without collating the passwords. They are written in the pertinent areas (S510-S560). |
