PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption in the low power consumption mode, to shorten the return time after the power consumption mode is released, and to improve the operability by controlling the operation of component means other than a fixing means in forming the image. SOLUTION: When a low consumption mode is set in a switch part 50 on an operation panel 19, the condition set by a control circuit 16 is detected, the drive of a power supply circuit 17 is stopped, and at the same time, the control temperature of a fixing heater 21 is set to the value lower than the control temperature in the stand-by mode. In this case, only a power source 15, the control circuit 16 and the fixing heater 21 are energized. When the control circuit 16 detects the release condition by operating a switch 52 on the operation panel 19, the temperature to be regulated of the fixing heater 21 is set to the value necessary for forming the image. When the control circuit 16 detects that the temperature of the fixing heater 21 reaches the target value, the power supply circuit 17 is operated, and the power sources 15, 17 of the whole image forming device are closed to enable the operation in forming the image. |
