PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composite image substantially by eliminating an unnecessary image in an overlapped area in the case of compositing at least two consecutive images. SOLUTION: A presence state of duplicate areas 203, 204 on which a 1st image 202a and a 2nd image 202b to be composited are in existence in duplicate is retrieved. Comparison object areas 206, 207 divided in the retrieved overlapped areas 203, 204 are set and the respective comparing object areas 206, 207 are compared to select an adopted area based on an accumulated pixels in the comparison object areas. Thus, the smaller object area with the smaller accumulated pixels is adopted, then the comparison object area 207 where no unnecessary image 205 is in existence is selected and a composite image 202 from which the unnecessary image is eliminated is obtained. |
