PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the voltage of an energy accumulating capacitor of a boost-type ICS at a relatively low value by generating a voltage that is opposite to an AC voltage, when a switching means is periodically connected to the capacitor by an auxiliary coil winding and reducing the voltage-time integration between inductors. SOLUTION: In an S<4> ICS-type forward converter, the polarity of coil windings N1 is opposite to that of an input voltage V in , where an induction voltage is rectified between N1 s when a switch SW is on, thus reducing the product of voltage and time between boost inductors LB, while the switch SW is on and decreasing energy being stored in the boost inductors LB as compared with a corresponding circuit without the coil windings N1 . Then, the voltage of an energy accumulating capacitor CB that is required for resetting the core of the boost inductors LB, while the switch SW is off. While the switch SW is set on, the coil windings N1 give an input power to a load. |
