<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the tape running performance over the long period in the manner of preventing the coagulation of a tape guide member and to improve the reliability by forming the specified shape to the sliding surface of guide member against the magnetic tape in the direction almost coincident with the magnetic tape running direction and forming the fine rugged shape on this surface. SOLUTION: The sliding surface part 5A of a fixed cylinder having the base material of silicious aluminum alloy containing nearly 8% of hard silicone particle is cut by a cutting tool of machining in almost parallel with the tape running direction, thereby the part 5L transferred by the edge of cutting tool having 170 deg. of vertical angle and the feeding pitch 5M of 60 um are formed. Subsequently, by the etching process applied on the surface for 60 sec while immersing in natrium hydroxide water solution in 10% concentration, the fine rugged shape 5K is formed in the magnetic tape running direction 5N. In this case, the surface roughness of the rugged shape 5K is settled to <=1/3 of the roughness of the surface shape in the cutting process.</p> |
