SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING KIND OF OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the kind of oil at high speed by inserting a probe into an oil to be determined, analyzing the output therefrom by near infrared spectroscopic analysis and then determining the kind of oil based on the analytical output and a prestored working curve. SOLUTION: A probe 7 is inserted into an oil to be determined in a transporting means and connected through an optical fiber with a near infrared spectroscopic analyzer 8. An output signal from the near infrared spectroscopic analyzer 8 is inputted to a control means 9 and a communication signal of the near infrared spectroscopic analyzer 8 is interconnected with a control means 10. The control means 9 controls the near infrared spectroscopic analyzer 8 to deliver an output signal to an input circuit and to deliver an output signal from the input circuit to a control circuit. A working curve determined through first order differential of the kind of oil predetermined by the near infrared spectroscopic analyzer 8 is stored in the memory circuit of the control means 9 and the control circuit compares the output from the near infrared spectroscopic analyzer 8 with the working curve thus determining the kind of oil. According to the arrangement, the kind of oil can be determined at high speed.
