PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a normal image without changing the aspect ratio by correcting image data provided by main scanning through an image reader while using a parameter established between a read image frame and a corrected image frame. SOLUTION: A read image frame 1 has an area surrounded by P0-P2-P3-P1 on a monitor screen and is inclined at an angleθto a horizontal line. The upper left edge of the image frame 1 is designated as a fixed point P0 on the monitor screen and then, the designation point P1 is specified. Thus, the interval of P0-P1 shows the width of the image frame 1. When the designated point P1 starts moving, the image frame 1 is rotated with the fixed point P0 as a center and moves onto the horizontal line including the fixed point P0, and it is transformed to the corrected image frame 1 having an area surrounded by P0-Q2-Q3-Q1 by correcting the protrusion from the frame. Thus, the image data provided by the scanning is made ready for use in an application program as they are.
