Vehicle brake control system

The vehicle has a sensor for the throttle pedal (5) and a sensor for the brake pedal (4), to determine if the vehicle is being driven or braked. A timing control circuit (6) monitors the time taken to release the throttle pedal and apply the brake pedal. If this time is below a set level enhanced braking is applied. The brake control moves the brakes into the contact position when the brake pedal is first pressed. This provides a fast reaction speed to apply the brakes when the brake pedal is pressed further. The control also monitors the rate of release of the throttle pedal to vary the braking force.
