Holder for surface coil in magnetic resonance imaging device

The holder (1) is U-shaped, with releasable fixings (3) for the flexible surface coil (2) provided on the opposing inside surfaces of the holder. The holder is attached to the shoulder, knee, arm, or leg of the examined body (4) and is made of a material which does not interfere with magnetic resonance imaging. The coil fixings may be provided by adhesive fixings for easy replacement of the coil.
