The bin (1) has lifting brackets (2) on each end by which it may be lifted by a collection vehicle. Pivotted on the end brackets is an inverted u-shaped element (3)to which a front cover (4) and a rear cover (5) are attached. Each cover has a number of hatches (14, 15) for receiving differentiated refuse. The covers are linked by a Y-shaped plate (6) and an assembly which has an upper arm (9) and flange (11). Each cover can be opened individually, or both can be swung back to uncover the entire content of the bin.
