Manufacturing pocket spring core

The casings for the individual coils (30) of the spring core are connected e.g. welded together and then the springs (27) are inserted. After connection and before insertion of the springs the casings are formed into a tube and the overlapping ends of the casings are connected together. After insertion of the springs into the coils a welded seam (26) is provided between individual springs which connects opposite sides of the relevant casing together to form the pocket (28). The number of adjoining coils produced at the same time can be varied. After reaching a certain length of coils two welded seams are attached side by side at a slight distance.
