Guideways on a machine tool are protected by a profiled stripper (7) of elastically deformable material with stripper lip (8) and rear mounting strip, retained by a profile support bar (10) with recess (11). The assembly is mounted on a telescopic cover for the guideway, comprising at least two parts (2,3) with at least one intermediate support member (12), running parallel to the support bar and the stripper. The support bar is attached replaceably to the intermediate member by at least one attachment member (15) hat engages a section (14) projecting from a cover member. Preferably the intermediate member has a cross section which interlocks with the support bar at least in its rear part, with at least one undercut portion (12b). |
