KDS PROTEIN KINASE MOLECULES AND USES RELATED THERETO

The present invention relates to KDS molecules associated with signal transduction. Compositions of matter, such as KDS nucleic acid molecules, KDS proteins, antibodies immunoreactive with KDS proteins, and preparations of such compositions, are disclosed. The KDS proteins of the invention comprise a kinase domain related to the kinase domain of the yeast protein Ste20. Moreover, the KDS proteins of the invention have kinase activity. The instant invention also discloses methods of modulating KDS proteins to modulate a signal transduction pathway in a cell. In addition, drug discovery assays are provided for identifying other agents which can modulate the biological function of KDS proteins.
