An ultrasound misting unit for breathing systems, comprises two connections (6,9) with an integral misting unit, a primary non-return valve (11) in the gas flow line with an associated piezo electric oscillating element (16), a misting chamber (3), and a secondary non-return valve (10). The misting chamber preferably has a closeable channel (5) which accomodates a medicine to be vaporised.
