The headrest has at least one adjustable and lockable carrier rod (20) in a guide part in the seat backrest, with a locking part (19) on which there is an extension (23) for moving into and out of at least one locking recess (25) on the guide part side. There is one unlocking element for each locking recess. These elements can be operated together to act on the extension of the locking part in its current height setting, pressing towards the carrier rod, and thus setting the unlocking position.
