Current converter arrangement for AC motor drive

The arrangement includes a DC/AC current converter (13) which contains power semiconductor devices and at least one smoothing capacitor (32) for a DC voltage. A control arrangement (2) is provided for controlling the DC/AC current converter, and an input/output interface unit (IOB) is provided with signal connections (CN1, CN2, CN3), over which input/output signals are sent to the control arrangement. The arrangement includes two or more separable blocks, of which one is a current converter base unit (COR), in which a part of the DC/AC converter and a part of the control arrangement are provided in form of a power module (ISPM). A further block is an input/output unit which contains the interface unit with the signal connections. Different input/output units can be connected at the power module, so that a power and functions of the arrangement can be changed in dependence on the type of the respectively connected input/output unit.
