Paper-making press blanket

The press blanket, on both sides of a fibre web to carry it through the gap between press rollers, has an outer layer (4) on the side towards the web which has a denser structure than the inner layer (5). The inner layer (5) has hollow zones (11) with pressure stability and a capacity under operating pressures which is greater than the water vol. to be taken in. Preferably the outer layer is thinner than the inner layer, for operating pressures of /-100 KPa, and the inner layer (5) is at least 50% thicker than the outer layer (4). The material of the outer layer (4) has a weight of 200-800 g/m<2>, and the inner layer material (5) is 600-3000 g/m<2> and pref. 1400-3000 g/m<2>. The side of the inner layer (5) towards the outer layer (4) has a denser structure than the other side.
