The new, used needle container (1) has a lid (2) with a number of disposal openings (4). These are closed by a shallow plug. In this new design the shallow plug may be spaced (17) away from the lid surface containing the openings. Vents (20) in the plug surface are so misaligned with the openings, that escape of the needle (8) is positively prevented. Preferably the vents are covered by a plate, which melts at temperatures reached in the autoclave. |
