FIELD: toxicology. SUBSTANCE: in cases with intoxications by gases with high hydrogen sulfide concentrations, a known immunomodulator leacadine is proposed to be applied as antidote. The drug assures inactivation of hydrosulfide and hydrogen sulfide ions by biding them with its reactive groups and thereby prohibiting hydrogen sulfide from damaging other structures, enzymes, and processes determining clinical characteristics of acute hydrogen sulfide intoxication.
