There is disclosed a tubular packing which can be easily produced, has satisfactory durability and maintains cushioning and heat-resistance properties of exfoliated graphite. There are prepared a sheen (11) of exfoliated graphite sheet and two wire nets (12, 13). One wire net (12) is superposed on an obverse side of sheet (11) in coinciding relation. The other wire net (13) is held in contact with a reverse side of sheet (11) in offset relation thereto. The stack is curved into a tubular shape compressed in a direction of a thickness of sheet (11), thereby forming a tubular packing. The nets (12, 13) are embedded in sheet (11) in the resultant packing. Net (13) interconnects opposite end edges (11a, 11b) of sheet (11) in a bridging manner, so that the packing is continuous over the entire circumference thereof. In another embodiment (figure 8), expanded metal sheet 22 is superposed on the the reverse side of sheet 21 and the two sheets are folded before inserting a connecting piece 23. The packing is used in automobiles. |
