摘要 PURPOSE:To carry a member to be recorded stably, and improve the thermal efficiency of drying by a method wherein a high temperature member is moved in the same direction as a member to be recorded, and gap which is formed by both parts if gradient in response to the drying degree of an ink drop. CONSTITUTION:An ink drop 30 which is discharged from a discharge port 2D of an ink jet recording head 2 sticks on a member to be recorded 31, and is carried in the direction shown by arrow A. The ink drop 30 which enters an ink drying fixation device is dry-fixed by heat radiation from a high temperature belt 39 which is heated by heat radiation from a heater 43. Since the belt 39 is moving in the direction shown by the arrow A, the ink drop 30 is not rubbed even when the belt 39 comes into contact with the ink drop 30, and the belt 39 can be provided to be close to the member 31. However, if the belt 39 approaches too much when fixation of the ink drop 30 is not advanced enough, there is a possibility that picture elements are destroyed. Therefore, a gap delta at an inlet is set not lower than the height for which the maximum thickness of the member 31 and the maximum height of the ink drop 30 are added, and a gap gamma at an out is set lower than the previously mentioned height. By doing this, ink drying fixation can be done with a favorable thermal efficiency.
