<p>An adjustable handle assembly (10) for engagement with a threaded end of a shaft. The assembly includes a cylindrical body with a through bore (18), a transverse passage (24) which intersects the bore (18) perpendicularly and a handle (22). A release plunger (36) having a through aperture (42) aligned with the bore (18) is positioned in the passage (24) out of which it is biased by a coil spring (46) which bears against a blind end of the passage (24) situated in a protuberance (26) on the body situated below the handle (22). One side of the aperture (42) in the release plunger (36) is threaded (44) for engagement with one side of the threaded shaft end. Rotation of the body thus screws the body onto the shaft. Depression of the release plunger (36) disengages the screw threads and permits rapid sliding of the body over the shaft. <IMAGE></p> |
