The apparatus includes a stack unit for stacking at least two discs (1a) in at least two stacking positions. Information is recorded onto the discs and can be read by a read-write unit. The discs are loaded and unloaded from the changer unit (2) by being moved along a curved path (28). The unit has gear transmission (60) and threaded spindles (8) for accessing the different locations. A movable guide system is at the front of the unit.
