PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject preparation high in vitamin E absorption efficiency, and useful for treating dermal inflammation and pruritus. SOLUTION: This aqueous dispersion-based preparation for external use contains 10-90 wt.% of a vitamin E (e.g.α-tocopherol acetate) based on the total amount of the base and the vitamin E. The base to be used essentially comprises an oily base (e.g. squalane), a higher alcohol (e.g. cetanol), and an emulsifier (e.g. glyceryl stearate, polyoxyethylene, hardened caster oil).
