Multi-purpose liquid cleaning compositions are described which are mildly acidic and which comprise a specific nonionic surfactant system. Said nonionic surfactant system comprises at least four nonionic surfact ants belonging to four HLB classes. The compositions according to the present invention can be used as laundry detergents or hard sur face cleaners for bathrooms or kitchens or floors, as well as carpet cleaners.
