PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic excellent in salt resistance without accompanying use feeling having bad conformability even when formulated with an alkyl- modified carboxyvinyl polymer having merits capable of stably keeping cosmetic without using any surfactant. SOLUTION: This cosmetic is obtained by formulating an alkyl-modified carboxyvinyl polymer with xyloglucan, which is a polysaccharide, having about 65,000 molecular weight and having a structure binding xylose or galactose as a side chain to a main chain being main component of seed of Tamarindus indica which is a leguminous plant produced in tropical district and comprisingβ-1,4-glucan. Feeling to user is further remarkably improved by formulating a silicone derivative into the above cosmetic.
