PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a fluoride glass composition used for a light amplifier or a laser. SOLUTION: Cations constituting the glass are, by mol.%, 5-40%. In, 5-40% Ga, 0-10% Al (but In+Ga+Al is within a range of 20-65%), 5-40% M (M is at least >=1 kind element selected among Ba, Sr, Ca and Mg), 3-40% T (T is at least >=1 kind element selected among Zn Pb, Cd and Sn), 2-40% R (R is at least >=1 kind element selected among Y, Sc, La, Pr, Nd, Gd, Ho, Tm, Yb and Lu), 0.01-15% Er, 0.1-15% Ce (but R+Er+Ce is <=45% and (Ca+Sr)/Ce is <=50) and 0-20% A (A is at least >=1 kind element selected among Li, Na, K, Cs and Rb) and anions constituting the glass are, by mol.%, 10-x% F and 0-10% Cl (but (x) is mol.% of the Cl). |
