PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily align adjacent handrails on their cut end faces and connect the adjacent handrails to each other without giving an ill feeling. SOLUTION: A casing 4 having an engagement protrusion 7 and a bottom plate 5 having an engagement groove 8 constitute a handrail 3. When the handrail 3 is set up at a stairway, the casing 4 for the handrail 3 is inclinedly cut at its end while the bottom plate 5 is bent in matching to the inclination of the stairway. The engagement groove 8 of the bottom plate 5 is fitted to the engagement protrusion of the casing 4 and the casing 4 is slided along the continuous bottom plate 5, so that the adjacent casing 4 can be easily abutted to each other on their cut end faces. Then, a cover 1 is screwed to the bottom plate 5 at both ends and a gap between the adjacent casing 4 is blocked with the cover 1 having a slender thin plate 2 to connect the adjacent handrails 3 to each other without giving an ill feeling.
|
