WIRE-TYPE MEASURING DEVICE FOR TAIL CLEARANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce measured errors by measuring a tail clearance by the wound length of a wire fixed at a constant tension to a contact piece deviated by a spring from the inner peripheral face of a skin plate to the outer peripheral face of a segment. SOLUTION: A recess 10 with a specified sectional shape is made at a specified position of the inner peripheral face of the skin plate 2 to be oppositely arranged against the segment 5. A contact piece 12 is provided to have a sectional shape fitted to the recess 10 and a contact face 13 enabling slide contact with the outer peripheral face of the segment 2. The contact face 13 of the contact piece 12 is protruded by a specified height L0 from the inner peripheral face of the skin plate 2 by extensible springs 15 from the bottom of the recess 10 and supported at the position. A guide means guiding the contact piece 12 in the right angled direction against the axial line of the skin plate 2 is provided and one end of a wire 19 is fixed to the contact piece 12 and fixed to the wire-winding device 20 at the other end thereof. And the wire is kept to have a constant tension by the winding device 20. A tail clearance at a specified part is measured on the basis of the wound length of the wire at the time the contact face 13 is pressed on the outer peripheral face of the segment 5 so as to slide by the extensible springs 15 and the wound length at the time the contact face 13 is in a specified level L0.
