PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recorder provided with a carriage mounting an ink tank and a head part removably in which convenience and economy are enhanced at the time of replacing ink. SOLUTION: A carriage 2 removably mounting an ink tank 4 having a liquid chamber for storing a liquid and a head mounted on the ink tank 4 while having a row of jet ports communicating with the liquid chamber is moved in a specified direction and the liquid is jetted to a material 14 to be recorded thus performing recording on the maternal 14 to be recorded. A plurality of rows of jet port are provided and a decision is made whether the ink tank 4 is a first ink tank for supplying different liquids to the plurality of rows of jet port, respectively, or a second ink tank for supplying ink only to a specified row of jet port. Since the ink jet operation of the rows of jet port is controlled depending on the decision results, the first ink tank for supplying ink to each jet port and the second ink tank for supplying ink only to a specified row of jet port can be exchanged. |
