PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the consumed amount of air of an air jet loom, by extremely readily carrying out the setting of a subnozzle timing in the air jet loom. SOLUTION: In the diagram of a distance (l) from the left end of reeding width to the crank angle (θ) of an air jet loom, a correction value K by a low yarn speed at the starting of weft inserting is added to a weft inserting starting angleθO and a function passing between a distanceθE from the origin of a final subnozzle and a point determined by a jet starting angleθE of the final subnozzle is obtained. A crank angleθ(1i ) corresponding to the i-th subnozzle positionθi in the function is calculated and the preparedθ(1i ) is set as the jet timing of the i-th subnozzle.
