SOLUTION: When a target increasing or decreasing pressure amountΔPi based a wheel speed and wheel acceleration becomes negative which indicates pressure reduction, a pressure increasing or decreasing time Tp is set according to the target increasing or decreasing pressure amountΔPi, a pressure increasing or decreasing interval (m) is set at a specified value m0, and an operating mode is set at a pressure reducing mode until a set pressure increasing or decreasing time Tp during which the pressure increasing or decreasing interval (m) is passed becomes '0'. If the target increasing or decreasing pressure amountΔPi becomes zero or positive in that mode, the pressure decreasing mode is stopped because a wheel slip is in the direction of convergence. On the other hand, when a pressure decreasing is performed continuously even if the target increasing or decreasing pressure amountΔPi is negative, the pressure decreasing mode is stopped because the wheel slip is in the direction of convergence when the trend of reduction of a wheel acceleration Vw1' is stopped so as to prevent over pressure reduction.
