PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable direct making of a plate from digital data and to enable increase of sensitivity at the time of laser exposure, by constituting a negative type image recording material out of a compound which is decomposed by light or heat and generates an acid, a crosslinking agent which is made to crosslink by the acid, at least one kind of alkali-soluble resin, an infrared absorbing agent and an acid anhydride. SOLUTION: In a negative type image recording material, the energy given by a solid state laser and a semiconductor laser emitting infrared rays is converted into thermal energy by an infrared absorbing agent D. A compound A which is decomposed by light or heat and generates an acid is decomposed by the heat of the thermal energy and generates the acid. This acid facilitates a crosslinking reaction of a crosslinking agent B made to crosslink by the acid upon alkali-soluble resin C, thereby, conducting image recording, that is, plate making of a recording material. When an acid anhydride E is made to exist in this system, the anhydride E performs a catalytic action, thereby improving the sensitivity of the negative type image recording material remarkably. |
