POLYESTER-BASED CONJUGATED FIBER AND PRODUCTION OF FIBROUS STRUCTURE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polyester-based conjugated fiber, capable of making the bulkiness compatible with a soft touch feeling and suitable for a nonwoven fabric, etc., for disposable use by composing the fiber of a specific sea component having a cross section perpendicular to the fiber axis and a specified divided component divided into plural sections with the sea component. SOLUTION: This polyester conjugated fiber comprises a polyester A which constitutes a sea component and is readily soluble in acid amide-based organic solvents and composed of a copolymer of 70-40 mol.% terephthalic acid and 30-60 mol.% isophthalic acid as an acid component and >=70 mol.% ethylene glycol as a diol component and a polyester B which constitutes a divided component and is sparingly eluted in the acid amide-based solvents at the ratio of the polyesters A and B used within the range of (80/20) to (2/98) expressed in terms of weight ratio. The divided component is composed of a polygonal part B1 having protrusions and plural ultrafine parts B2 and the denier of the composite fiber is within the range of 1-20 denier. A polyester-based fibrous structure is preferably produced by eluting and removing the polyester A component from a nonwoven fabric composed of the conjugated fiber.
