Metering circuits for accumulating charges during a call each comprise a number of multistable magnetic storage elements and are scanned continuously so as to receive signals indicative of the charges from a common circuit. Each call involves the use of a repeater AUe associated with an intermediate storage device Sp. A common signalling circuit ZM connects with each storage device Sp and associated repeater in turn to enable metering signals from the repeater to be sent to the storage device and accumulated there until the end of the call. When a repeater is taken into use its busying relay C energizes to clear the multi-stable magnetic elements E, Z, H of the storage device Sp. A metering pulse causes Zh to energize so that connector K hunts for the relevant repeater. When the repeater is found test relay P energizes to restore the windings I of saturable transformers SE, SZ, SH. Relay P also energizes AE which falls back after a predetermined time to break the circuit to winding I of SE while making circuit to winding II. A pulse is therefore omitted by winding III to storage element E in circuit Sp. The connector K releases the repeater and continues its scan. Element E stores up to 9 impulses, the tenth energizing JE, so operating AZ and zeroizing E whereby carry is effected to the tens element Z. similarly carry is effected to the hundreds element H by operation of AH. |
