The invention is directed to an air directing device for a hair dryer for acting upon the air stream exiting from the hair dryer, in which an air directing member (10) is configured as an essentially tubular body (12) having an inlet opening (14) and an outlet area (16) for the air. The air outlet area (16) comprises a plurality of individual orifices (18) configured and positioned such that the exiting air stream is split into a plurality of essentially independent free jets.
