The invention concerns a lubricating process and a lubricating device for a vertical shaft bearing. In order to prevent insufficient lubrication whilst a machine is starting, an oil supply (8) is established in a first chamber (6) at a rotational speed of the shaft which corresponds to the normal running of the machine. The oil from this supply (8) flows into a further chamber (9) when the machine slows down. During a subsequent re-starting phase of the machine, before the feed mechanism in the oil feed duct (4) of the shaft (1) comes into action, the oil in the further chamber (9) is fed to the bearing (3) to be lubricated. |
