PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set a damping capability generated by the expansion of an air bag and collapse characteristics caused by an instrument panel impact test in cars not provided with a deck cross member. SOLUTION: A front passenger seat air bag mounting structure is provided with an instrument panel 1 installed forward of a front passenger seat of a car, an upper supporting member and lower reinforcement 4 which support the instrument panel l from its rear side, and an internal reinforcement 2 which is arranged on the rear side of the instrument panel 1 and of which upper and lower end parts are fixed to the upper support member and lower reinforcement 4, respectively. Also a front passenger seat air bag 3 is installed on the internal reinforcement 2 at a specified vertical middle position. |
