PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for working a lens that can make a spectacles lens which is different in size from an original model, in particular, a lens for frameless glasses similar to the original model. SOLUTION: Outside size data of an original lens model which are distances from the center of the lens shape to the edge thereof at predetermined rotational angles are stored (s2), the size of a lens to be ground is input (s3), an indicating signal for indicating the diameter of the lens to be ground which is corrected by multiplying the outside size of the original model by a ratioγof the original model size to the input lens size is produced, and the outer periphery of the lens rotating about the center thereof is ground according to the indicating signal (s7) to make a spectacles lens.
