Aqueous suspensions of mineral substances for use in the paper industry containing as a dispersing agent and/or crushing aid a copolymer consisting of: a) at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a carboxylic function, b) optionally at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer having a sulphonic or phosphoric function of a mixture thereof, c) optionally, at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer having no carboxylic function, d) at least one oxyalkylated, ethylenically unsaturated, surface-active monomer ending with a hydrophobic chain. uses thereof in paper manufacturing and in the manufacture of coating colours for paper.
