The present invention relates to a device for neutralizing acid water or other acid fluid. It is characterized in that it comprises a container (1) openable at the top (4) and having perforated walls pervious to water, e.g. provided with netting, designed to be filled with powdered or other neutralizing agent such as calcium, the container being shaped as a truncated cone with the larger end surface directed downwardly, supported by a float body (3) or suspended in a permanently attached line.
