A control system for guards' rounds. The system includes a guard control point which the guard has to pass and a control centre for processing data from the previous control point, intercommunicating via a radio communications network 5. At the control point that the guard has to pass, there is a unit 1 that identifies the guard by reading the contact memory on a card 2 belonging to the guard, sending at the same time to the control centre 4 the code read from that card and the code of the control point and also receiving confirmation from the control centre 4 that the data was correctly transmitted. Combined with a mobile portable unit 3 the data is sent to the control centre 4 where a base equipment 7 is established connected to which there is a base radio station 6 and this base equipment is connected by means of a serial interface to a control and management computer 8, the base equipment 7 receiving the data from the control point, sending confirmation that the data was received correctly and sending this data to the control and management computer 8. The system permits at any time, that is in real time, knowing that a guard has passed the various control points that he should pass. <IMAGE>
