Hydrosoluble and organo-soluble acrylic polymers

Polymers soluble in aqueous and organic media with molecular weight = 4000 - 100000g.mol<-1> are obtained by polymerisation of (1) alkyl and cycloalkyl acrylate(s) (65-95wt.%); (2) acrylic acid (4-15wt.%); and (3) ester(s) of mono- or di- (1-8C alkyl) dicarboxylic acid(s) which is alpha - or beta - unsaturated (0.1-20wt.%); all proportions being relative to total weight of (1), (2) and (3). Also claimed is the use in paint, ink or varnish.
