<p>The invention relates to a method in which aldehydes are dissolved, in the presence of hydrogen, in a solvent which is in a supercritical state, such that a homogeneous, supercritical mixture is obtained, which mixture is brought into contact with a catalyst. Alcohols are formed as the product. The advantages of the method consist in the economic advantages which result from the relatively low hydrogenation temperature and the rapidity of the reaction.</p> |
